This elite expression of the Spyderco Para™ 3 was produced exclusively for KnifeCenter. The defining feature of this remarkable knife is its blade, which is precision machined from CPM®  CRU-WEAR®—an air-hardening tool steel specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness. Created by Crucible® Industries, CRU-WEAR's unique alloy composition allows it to excel in applications that require greater wear resistance than D2, more toughness than M2 high-speed steel, or both. The CRU-WEAR used in the blade of this knife is further enhanced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, which reduces alloy segregation to achieve an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. In a knife blade, that translates to amazing toughness and the ability to take and hold an outstanding edge.

The other distinctive element of this knife is its handle, which features smooth black G-10 scales. Like all versions of the Para 3, the interior surfaces of the scales have machined recesses that house nested stainless steel liners. These liners form the foundation of the knife's high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism and provide a solid anchor for its four-position hourglass pocket clip, which supports left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry.
