Drawing inspiration from the iconic Spyderco Native®, the Shaman offers the same refined ergonomics and proven design dynamics, but in a larger, even more capable format. It also adds the strength and ease of use of our Compression Lock® mechanism, which allows the blade to be easily closed without placing your fingers in the path of the edge.

One defining feature of this elite version of the Shaman is its blade, which is crafted from CPM® M4. Often used in high-performance custom blades and knives designed for competitive cutting, CPM M4 is a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. Its advanced alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. To help protect this knife's blade from corrosion and give it a dramatic, no-nonsense appearance, it also features a durable black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

Equally unique, the handle of this knife features Blade HQ's signature natural-colored G-10 scales. The interior surfaces of the contoured, smooth-finished scales are machined to house nested stainless steel liners that provide outstanding structural strength and form the foundation of the knife's Compression Lock mechanism. To complement the DLC-coated blade, the handle's four-position pocket clip and all other hardware also sport durable black-coated finishes.
