The Kopa Series knives are the newest models in Spyderco's canon of collectible gentlemen's folders. With an estimated eighteen different handle materials slated for release through 2006, the third and fourth offerings are now on the market. Kopa knives have stainless handles each hand-fitted with exotic material inlays. The third installment in the sequence has an Evrina inlay. Evrina is a form of manmade ivory, creamy in texture that scrimshaws like genuine ivory. The fourth version is inlayed with Tiger Coral scales that vary from knife to knife highlighting the patterns and natural textures found in organic coral. Kopa models all have stainless handles ergonomically engineered for the human hand and each inlay is set between brushed steel bolsters for a modern, custom appearance. Expansion points wave along the handle keeping the user's hand in perpetual contact for precise cutting and safety. Their leaf shaped blades are utilitarian VG-10, flat-ground with a PlainEdge cutting surface. Positioned above the Spyderco Round Hole is a spine cusp and below the hole is a finger choil. Cusp and choil work in concert keeping the hand stabilized while cutting. A back-lock positioned mid-way on the spine has a David Boye cutout from the lock bar offering additional locking security. Kopas are right-handed and carry tip-down with a silhouette steel pocket clip. Blade length is 2-7/16" 62mm, overall length is 5-3/16" 148mm. MSRP varies per handle material inlay. Quantities limited to 600 pieces per handle material and new models are scheduled for release regularly throughout 2005-2006.
