Its raptor-like blade is ground from H-1® steel—an extraordinary nitrogen-based alloy that is extremely corrosion resistant. The blade is then coated with a durable black titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating that reduces its reflective properties and forms the perfect backdrop for a handsomely engraved USN logo. All other metal parts of the knife also received a stealthy black TiCN coating that contrasts beautifully with the signature USN “toxic green” color of the textured, fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle.
